Donald Earl Hunter
Mr. Donald Earl Hunter, 89, of Clemmons passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Salemtowne. He was born May 25, 1918 in Muskegon, Michigan to Harry Kilbourne and Evelyn Johnson Hunter. Mr. Hunter was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Mary’s Church in Warren, Ohio. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He did volunteer work at Medical Park Hospital and was a member of Clemmons Civic Club. Surviving is his wife, Julia F. Hunter of the home; three daughters, Pat (David) Walter, Jane (Bruce) Rogers, all of Clemmons, and Joanne Linder of Plymouth, MN; two sons, Bill (Linda) Hunter of Clemmons and Jeff (Christina) Hunter of Winston-Salem; a brother, Robert (Alice) Hunter of Kalamazoo, MI; a sister, Audrey Jane Drumm of Carlsbad, CA; six grandchildren, Tamara Walter, Michael Rogers, Ryan Rogers, Jeffrey Hunter, Jared Hunter, and Nicholas Hunter. A memorial service was held June 18, 2007 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Cook officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Muskegon, MI. Julia F. Hunter
Julia F. Hunter left her earthly home on Monday, June 18, 2007, to take her place with her Lord and Savior. She was born June 25, 1924, in Muskegon, Mich., to Antonio Feliciotti and Speranza Nicoletti Feliciotti. She graduated from Muskegon High School and married her husband, Donald E. Hunter, on June 15, 1946. This marriage resulted in five wonderful children who survive their mother and father: Pat (David) Walter and Jane (Bruce) Rogers, all of Clemmons; Joanne Linder of Minneapolis, Minn.; Bill (Linda) Hunter, also of Clemmons; and Jeff (Christina) Hunter of Winston-Salem; and six grandchildren, Tamara Walter, Michael Rogers, Ryan Rogers, Jeffrey Hunter, Jared Hunter and Nicholas Hunter. Mrs., Hunter found great joy in her family and was happiest when surrounded by all of them. She also enjoyed volunteer work at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Warren, Ohio. Odessa Malone Jones
Mrs. Odessa Malone Jones, 88, of Clemmons passed away Friday, June 22, 2007, at Clemmons Village I. She was born Feb. 28, 1919, to the late Tessie Quinn and William Wick Malone. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Lewisville. Mrs. Jones was predeceased by her husband, Virgil Smith Jones; a brother, Morris Malone; and three sisters, Louise Ringold, Maisie Davis and Doris Bowen. She is survived by a sister, Eva Deen (Jim) of Camarillo, Calif.; two brothers, James Malone of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Wick Malone of Starkville, Miss.; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Malone of Starkville; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service was conducted at 3 p.m. yesterday at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Thomas W. Albert officiating. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of Clemmons Village I for their excellent care of and kindness to Mrs. Jones. Jean Wishon Smith
Mrs. Jean Wishon Smith, 81, of Clemmons passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 11, 1926, in Yadkin County to the late Arthur E. and Annie Motsinger Wishon. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her first husband, John S. Smith Jr. and her second husband, William B. Powell; a son, Michael; and a brother, Wade W. Wishon. Surviving are three sons, Jerry L. Smith and wife Judy of Kernersville, Craig Smith and wife Terri of Winston-Salem and Alan T. Smith of Colo.; a daughter, Marcia S. Harper and husband Russ of Lewisville; nine grandchildren and two great- grandchildren; and a sister, Martha W. Calcutt of Pinnacle. A funeral service was held June 25, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial followed at Immanuel Baptist Church Cemetery, 1505 Lewisville-Clemmons Road.
Nancy Kiser Rea
Nancy Kiser Rea, 51, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center ending her 14 year battle with A.L.S. or Lou Gehrig’ s disease. Despite the pervasive nature of her disease, Nancy led a full life and was survived by her husband of 31 years, David Brian Rea and four children: Sarah Allison Rea, Alissa Lyn Williams, Mary Justin Rea and Thomas Edwin Rea II. Nancy was the daughter of Denver and Mary Kiser of Clemmons and the sister of Michal D. Kiser of Blacksburg, Va. A memorial service was held June 27 at Clemmons United Methodist Church. Betty Jean Moore Riddle
Betty Jean Moore Riddle, 66, of Lewisville passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007. She was born March 10, 1941, in Guilford County and was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Opal Hutchins Moore. Surviving family includes her loving husband of 48 years, Sam W. Riddle; son Stan W. (Ann) Riddle; and grandchild Lindsay M. Riddle, all of Lewisville; two brothers, Harvey Gray (Stella) Moore of Julian and Allen Ray (Carolyn) Moore of Greensboro; niece Debra L. (Dana) Alexander; and great-nephew Dustin of High Point. A funeral service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, Sedgefield Chapel, in Greensboro, with Garland Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. Mrs. Riddle lived her whole life always reaching out to help others. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
