Getting closer: Titans challenge but fall short against Knights

By Chris Mackie - No question, unbeaten North Davidson is this season’s creme of the crop when it comes to Central Piedmont Conference softball.
But West Forsyth is gaining ground.
Battling the unbeaten Black Knights at home last week, the Titans threatened early and scored twice in the fourth inning before dropping a 5-2 decision. North improved to 18-0 overall while West slipped to 10-7.
At the plate, West collected three hits against North ace Danielle Glosson, including a home run by Kelsey Burkett. Julie Poindexter also had a double for the Titans.
