Honoring a commitment he made early in the 2006 college football season, Wake Forest head coach Jim Grobe was the keynote speaker at the Clemmons Rotary Club breakfast at the Village Inn last week. It may not have been Disneyworld, but coach Grobe was still greeted by dozens of smiling faces and a standing-room-only audience that was obviously thrilled to hear from one of the nation’s most sought after college coaches. “I was the first one to know that he was going to win 11 games this season,” joked CRC member Jerry Long. “That’s why I asked him to be one of our speakers after the third or fourth win.” Sporting a Wake Forest windbreaker, Grobe addressed the local audience on...
