West boys swim team defends city-county title in dominant fashion

By Chris Mackie - Chen, Jones, Dean and Smith. It may sound like a legal firm but in the world of local prep swimming, those four names collectively represent excellence.
Case in point: The 2007 city-county championship.
Led by the aforementioned foursome, West rendered area competition defenseless in taking this year’s Winston-Salem/Forsyth County crown. Their 349-point total easily surpassed runner-up Reynolds (259 points) and was more than 100 points better than the scores of each of the remaining six teams in the field.
