West soccer team falls to Page Pirates

- West Forsyth’s bid for a boys 4-A soccer title ended with a loss to Greensboro Page in second round action last weekend.
West advanced to the match by thumping Central Cabarrus 3-1 in round one play at home last Wednesday night.
In that match, West jumped out in front when Adam Wells scored on a penalty kick 10 minutes into the game. Wells took the shot after teammate Alex Pardue was tripped from behind on a breakaway.
Seth McVay increased the West lead to 2-0 with a goal later in the half. Central scored its lone goal just before the break.
Wells closed out the scoring by recording a second goal on a loose ball in the second half.
The Titans finished the year with a 13-9-2 overall record.
