West boys tennis team suffers 5-2 loss to Page in 4-A tourney West Forsyth’s Matt Phillips connects on a forehand during state playoff competition. By Chris Mackie - The Greensboro Page Pirates did something last week that no Central Piedmont Conference team had been able to do all spring — beat the West Forsyth boys tennis team. The Titans, 14-0 going into the NCHSAA 4-A state tournament match at Hanes Park, fell behind in singles play and were unable to rally in doubles. The resulting 5-2 Page victory showcased the strength of the Metro Conference (Page finished second to powerhouse Greensboro Grimsley) and gave West a measuring stick for the future. “Page has an excellent team and they earned the win,” noted Titan coach Paul Swindler. “We have a very young team and...” Subscribe to the Courier, P.O.
