Board eyes T'wood campground

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners held its weekly briefing session in the clubhouse ballroom at Tanglewood Park on Thursday, July 26. The topic of discussion was the proposed upgrades to the park’s maintenance facility and now-defunct campgrounds, so the meeting was moved from its usual location at the Forsyth County Government Center so that the commissioners could tour the facilities under consideration.
All seven of the commissioners were in attendance, along with deputy county managers Ron Graham and Ed Jones, county attorney Davita Martin, and county chief financial officer Paul Fulton. Representatives from Woolpert, Inc. and David Gorin & Associates architecture firms, as well as Tanglewood general manager Doug Joldersma and grounds and facilities maintenance manager Clint Ingram, were also present.
Woolpert has drawn up the proposed plan for the maintenance facility, and David Gorin & Associates created the plan for the renovated campgrounds.
Because of budget constraints, Woolpert’s original plans, presented last fall, have been scaled down from an estimated $11 million budget to $4 million ...
