The campus of Clemmons Elementary School will soon look much greener.
Twelve red sunset October maple trees have been planted alongside the playing fields at the back of the campus. This area is known as the Village Green and includes the Forsyth County Broncos football field, a soccer field, a basketball court and a playground.
Principal Dr. Ron Montaquila, along with Rodney Latham and other members of the school’s Parent Teacher Association, have proposed that a new gym/community center be built beside the school’s parking lot to help transform Village Green into a gathering place and common area for Clemmons citizens.
“We really want to turn this area into a public park and make it the heart of Clemmons, and these trees will help accomplish that goal,” said Dr. Montaquila. “We are trying to improve not only our school but the entire village of Clemmons. We want the community to know that the Village Green is here.”
The Village of Clemmons and the Clemmons Appearance Commission gave the school a $500 grant... Subscribe to the Courier, P.O. Box 765, Clemmons, NC 27012.
