By Julie Mackie - On February 23, 2007, a very vibrant, precious life was taken in a most tragic way. Johnna Eller, one of the area’s most well-known and successful hair stylists, passed away from injuries she sustained in an automobile accident. She was 47. Johnna, co-owner of Hair Expressions in Clemmons, was a caring and thoughtful woman who touched many lives. She had cut and colored my hair for over 15 years, and was the first and only stylist my 5-year old son Sam had ever known. About every two months or so, I would walk through the door for my appointment and see Johnna, usually listening intently to a story of a customer and enjoying the company of everyone in the shop. She laughed a great deal and always brightened my day. She and I shared conversation on many subjects, but there was nothing we enjoyed more than talking about our sons. Duston, Johnna’s beloved son, is quite a bit older than Sam. She loved reminiscing about his growing years and was quite colorful and candid when discussing his teen years.
