Lewisville Council receives town’s annual audit report

The Town of Lewisville was in good financial standing for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006, according to an audit report presented at the Town Council’s regular meeting on Thursday, January 11.
Gibson & Company, P.A. reported that the town’s annual audit was clean and had no findings. The report listed the town’s total assets at $7,122,721, its total liabilities at $284, 584 and its total net assets at $6,838,137.
Total revenues were $3,981,110, with the majority coming from property taxes. Total expenses were $2,773,069, with public works being the biggest expense.
The town showed an increase of $1,208,041 in its net assets.
In other business, council unanimously approved a request from American Legion Post 522 to place a new flagpole at the Veterans’ Monument in Shallowford Square.
The flagpole will display a POW/MIA flag in honor of all United States service men and women who have been designated prisoners of war/missing in action. A small podium with a plaque will be placed at the base of the pole.
